They are a private business and have NO influence over your Visa. Their staff will also not have any experience with visa applications, they only know how to take your biometrics.

 

But they do try and make additional money, they offer appointments at more convenient times and charge extra, they offer executive lounges and charge extra, they offer a service which allows you to keep your passport and charge extra. 

 

There are two documents you will need to take;

• Your passport

• Appointment letter (Automatically transferred to your e-mail after you book your appointment. Or downloadable from your VFS dashboard page, accessible via your unique UK visa form link.)

 

Perhaps the most frustrating part of the VFS contract is their control over your appointment date at the VAC. When you submit your documents it’s almost impossible to get an appointment within the next day or two without paying extra for a paid appointment service.

They know that people want the service to be available the next day, and they know that many people are willing to pay for this luxury. They have a number of categories that allow you to attend the next day, they vary in price. To benefit from these services, payment needs to be made online before an appointment is booked. 

 

Providing a copy of your fingerprints and image of your eyes is done painlessly using camera technology. This appointment usually takes approximately 20-30 minutes.
